out–migration: to leave one region or community in order to settle in another especially as part of a large-scale and continuing movement of population.
forced migration: refers to the coerced movement of a person or persons away from their home or home region in a violent manner.
net internal migration: Any change of residence across the borders of the United States
movers from abroad: People who move somewhere different across some sort of line.
internally displaced persons: Someone who is forced to flee their home but who, unlike a refugee, remains within their country's borders.
Sudan Civil War Summary:
The first Sudanese began in 1955 and ended in 1972 The Second Sudanese war began in 1983. It was an ongoing battle from the first war. Most of the war took place in Southern Sudan. It was a very violent war and it made Sudan a very unsafe place to live. Around 4 million people who lived there had to leaves their homes in order to stay alive. In Southern Sudan alone, about 2 million people were killed. It was a very deadly war that has lasted the longest in the late 20th century.

Movie Summary:
In class on Friday we watched as the Lost Boys of Sudan immigrated to America. We watched them get on the plane for the first time. We got to follow them on their journey getting used to a new country. They now have jobs and are living on their own.
