Lost Boys Questions

  • Why did the Lost Boys have to run away from their homes? They had to leave their homes in Sudan because there is a civil war there. Men were being killed, women were being raped, little boys were ordered to be killed, and more. It was not safe for them to stay there, so they left to find a new life, a much happier and safer life.
  • Why couldn't they stay in Ethiopia? They were told they had to relocate from Ethiopia, because there government toppled and they told them they could not have the refugee camp there. They could not take care of them.
  • What was life like in the refugee camp? On some nights, they go to bed starving for weeks and months at a time. They entertain themselves by singing, dancing, and listening to the radio. They lived in house made out of grass.
