My Family's Past
I was born on December 7th, 1995 in Baltimore Maryland. I was the first niece, daughter, and granddaughter. My little sister Caroline was born December 17th 1997 in Baltimore also. We grew up in Aberdeen and then moved to Bel Air in 2000. My Mom, Fran Connelly, was born in Rosedale, Maryland in 1960. she went to St. Clements and Catholic High. She graduated from Towson University and currently works with infants and toddlers in special ed in Cecil County. Her father Thomas Connelly was born in 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her mother, Catherine Adams (who I was named after, when she died in 1992) was born in Baltimore Maryland in 1925. My great grandfather (Thomas Connelly's dad) who was also a Thomas Connelly, was born in the 1890's in Northern Ireland. My mother's does not keep in touch with her family and also her and her brother are the only ones still alive. It is unknown when my great grandfather come to Baltimore. My great grandmother (Catherine Adams) Francis Burkhart, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1909. Francis Burkhart's great grandparents came to America from England and Germany. Since we do not keep in touch it was difficult from me to get a lot of information on my mothers family. My father, Christopher Angert, was born in Havre de Grace Maryland in 1962. He went to public school in Havre de Grace and graduated at John Carroll in 1981, so did his little sisters Anne & Julie. They graduated in 1983 and 1985. he went to college at Clemson and earned his degree in engineering. he currently works down at Fort Meade at the National Security Agency. His mother, Catherine Foley was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1930. My grandfather, Donald Angert was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1927. Catherine Foley's parents (Edward Foley and Lousie Deering) Were well known doctors in Havre de Grace. Edward was born in Germany around the late 1880's, he moved here to America to become a doctor. Lousie Deering was born in Baltimore, Maryland in the late 1880's as well. Her father, Charles came to America with his wife, Mildred. We do not know when exactly they came to America though. I really liked this project because I talked to my grandparents for hours on the phone. I miss them a lot because they are on vacation in Europe. It was fun to learn about my families past and just to be able to talk to be grandparents(Angert). I also discovered that way back in my family tree, you can trace back to Charles Carroll. According to my grandma he is my great great great great great great uncle or something like that. Charles Carroll is cousins with John Carroll. So i guess you could say I'm related to John Carroll.
